This past week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Peter Boghossian on his fantastically provocative show. We discussed everything from the downfall of academia to the modern literary establishment—and why I hate pornographic fairy elves.
In other words, if you’ve ever wanted to hear me get grilled on why I hate romantasy novels, you’re not going to want to miss this interview.
Thanks so much to Peter Boghossian for having me on!

👏👏👏 A terrific, hilarious and comprehensive interview with Peter Boghossian, Liza! My favorite quote from it was “AI isn’t as crazy as I am.” 😂 You made so many great points Liza and you are so good at interviews as you are so good at having rational, intelligent and civil conversations! I think you are a lot better at talking to people than you think you are! I don’t always agree with your takes, but I think you are a brilliant thinker, cultural critic, intellectual, and writer! When you and Professor Boghossian disagreed you did so respectfully which is refreshing. I know when it comes to being an internet friend I’ve been far from perfect and have made mistakes like once being rude to you on Instagram and accidentally saying something negative about The Brodsky Sisters in a public comment on Instagram. I did want to reassure you that in the first case, I wasn’t actually “very disappointed in you” I was just having a bad mental health day. I didn’t mean to attack you like that for no reason. In the latter case, I misunderstood what you were asking in your caption. I did NOT mean to say I had no interest in reading it which is NOT case at all. But despite those mistakes, I really do love your work at Pens & Poison and have learned so much about literature and human psychology from you! I really applaud you for having the courage to go on the shows of big names like Andrew Klavan, Eric Metaxas and Peter Boghossian despite having social anxiety!
